What inspires UpCDownC to continue creating music?

The fun element. If it stops being fun then we go our seperate ways.

Your last release, Embers, was a great success, what’s next?

We already have a new recording done which is quite a bit different to both our previous efforts. A lot more darker, heavier and angrier with vocals. We are looking for a label to release it.

Post Rock generates creative (and often lengthy) band and track names, how does UpCDownC come up with these?

Stuff we see, read or the things that people say. They are often just throw away comments.

How does UpCDownC decide which tracks will be on a release? testing them at gigs, or a different method?

Whatever serves the album really. It needs to be an experience that will be listened to from beginning to the end and not just random songs.

What have you been listening to recently that you would recommend to your fan base?

Lovvers, Rolotomassi, Kings of Leon, the Twin Peaks soundtrack.

No. People just can’t get along.

The obligatory digital media question: We all know that digital downloads (legal or not) are changing the music business, would you say this is a challenge or an opportunity, and why?

It’s obviously a benefit as more people can get hold of your music. It’s just a shame as people aren’t going out and buying albums anymore. Just downloading a few songs here and there. It’s far more satisfying to have the album in your hand than in a digital format on your computer
